How Did I Get Gall Bladder Problems

The gallbladder is a small organ located under the liver. Liver secretes bile which gall bladder then restore for later use. Bile is used by the body to digest fats. It contains cholesterol, bile salts, lecithin and small amounts of some other substances.

Rapid changes of body weight can cause gall bladder problems. It is important to note, that obesity and gall bladder disease are related. Gall bladder problems are most common among women age forty and over who also are overweight and have had children.

Inflamed gall bladder causes severe pain in the upper right abdomen, fever, nausea, and vomiting. It must be treated immediately or it may become life threatening.

Here are some considerations potentially beneficial to improve gall bladder function.

Detoxification program for the liver and colon may improve gall bladder function.
Cleansing coffee enemas may give some relief if you have chronic problems.
Essential fatty acids are very important constituents of every living cell and are needed to repair and prevention of gall stones. Vitamin E prevents fats from becoming rancid.
Lecithin is a fat emulsifier helping in digestion of fats. It is available as capsules or granules.
L-Glycine is essential for the biosynthesis of nucleic and bile acids. It is absorbed better if it is taken with B6 and C vitamins. Milk will inhibit the absorption, so take it with juice or water.
Vitamin A is needed for repair of tissues.
All B vitamins are needed for proper digestion.
C vitamin deficiency may lead to gall stones.
Gall bladder malfunction interferes with vitamin D absorption. Consider supplements if you have gall bladder problems.
Alfalfa cleanses the liver and supplies necessary vitamins and minerals.
In Europe peppermint oil capsules are used to cleanse the gall bladder.
Other potentially beneficial herbs are barberry root bark, catnip, cramp bark, dandelion, fennel, ginger root, horsetail, parsley, and wild yam.
Avoid all animal fat and meat, fried foods, spicy foods, margarine, soft drinks, chocolate, commercial oils, refined carbohydrates, and coffee.
Do not overeat.

Gall stones don’t necessarily cause any symptoms, unless one of the stones slips into a bile duct. Bile duct drains the gall bladder and the liver. The symptoms of a gall stone blocking the bile passage are nausea, vomiting, and pain in the upper right abdomen. Symptoms usually start after eating fatty or fried food.

Gall stones are formed from crystallized cholesterol combined with bile. The treatment for gall stones is usually surgical removal of the gall bladder if the stones cause symptoms. Sometimes drugs or sound waves can be used to get stones dissolved or fragmented.

The Biggest Cause of Snoring - Obesity

Obesity and just being overweight is the cause or the worsening of nearly every disease or health condition.

The biggest cause for snoring, and snoring is a symptom of many health conditions, is obesity. There are other causes, smoking, drinking, sleep medications and others, but without doubt being overweight is the biggest cause.

As the body becomes overweight, fat deposits develop in various areas of the body, and the neck is no exception. Excess fatty, flabby tissue within the nasal cavities offers such an obstruction. The condition is even worse when the obese person lies on their back to sleep as the front of the neck is a prime site for the accumulation of excess fat and fluid and the weight of this squashes the airways.

Snoring then occurs when air struggles to force its way through the airway obstructed by the excess fatty and flabby tissue.

While many people think of snoring as an inconvenience or a little noisey, it is can be more serious. Snoring is your body’s way of crying out for the air that it needs to perform basic functions. The actual snoring sound is your body trying to force air through the obstructions, if the underlying cause is obesity, then the direct cause is the flabby tissue and weakend muscles in the neck, that are stopping you from breathing properly. Snoring can also cause sore throats and headaches, and a feeling of dry mouth in the morning.

Also many studies have been conducted regarding “spousal arousal syndrome”, the name given to the problem of a snoring spouse waking up their partner. Spousal arousal syndrome can account for up to 1 hour of sleep lost per night for the non-snorer. If obesity is the cause of your snoring issue, it should be clear to you now that snoring is no simple matter. A proper diet and exercise can purge all these problems and consequences from your life and the lives of those you love.

In addition, “regular” snoring can precursor to sleep apnoea, a very serious sleep disorder. Sleep apnoea is a temporary stoppage of breathing due to airway blockage like snoring, except more serious. Sleep apnoea sufferers may wake up in the middle of the night, gasping for air. This affects the person’s sleep patterns, causing them to be tired, irritable, have headaches upon waking, have a dry mouth and throat and unable to concentrate during the daytime.

Do what you need to do to stop the problem of snoring.

Fortunately, there is a way to stop many snoring problems associated with obesity - weight loss and exercise.

If you are overweight, you need to cut your daily intake of calories and work hard on a diet that will help you lose you that extra weight. A man needs only to be twenty percent overweight to have a nightly snoring problem. Lose the weight and you’ll likely lose the snore.

Another solution to help lower the nightly frequency is not to have a big meal or one that is too rich or fatty later in the evening. But, be careful when making any dietary changes. Ensure that not only are you eliminating snoring triggers but that you are still eating healthy and having lots of fruits and vegetables.

Also ertain foods are also known to increase your chances of snoring while other foods have reputations for helping lessening the noise of your snoring. Many find that dairy products, i.e. milk, yohgurt, ice cream etc., are one of the foods that cause increases in their snoring. A milk alternative is soy or rice milk.

Omega 3 Fatty Acids What are They, Really

“The physician who knows only medicine, knows not even medicine.”
Omega-3s are “fatty acids” that help build other fats in the body. They derive their name from their chemical structure — the “omega” end of the molecule has its first double bond in the “3″ position.
Know what that means? Do you really care what that means? Isnt fat just fat?

Scientists have found that historically the Eskimos of Greenland have enjoyed exceptional heart health despite a diet very high in fat. After some research, it was discovered that the primary source of the fat in their diet came from sea mammals, which contain high amounts of omega-3 fatty acids.

Research has uncovered a many beneficial health effects of these types of fats. They are essential for the proper development of nerves, eyes and brains in growing children. They protect against dying from a heart attack. And they have been studied for their beneficial effects on inflammatory diseases (see Dr Barry Sears Books on Omega 3 and inflamation) such as arthritis, lupus and asthma.

Three major types of omega-3 fatty acids exist. Alpha-linolenic acid (ALA) is in plant foods such as flaxseed, walnuts and canola oils.

Eicosapentaenoic acid, or EPA, and docosahexaenoic acid, or DHA, are found in fish and algae, especially in fatty fish such as salmon, trout and herring.

Human milk contains all three types of omega-3 fats: ALA, DHA and EPA. (DHA is the main type needed for brain, eye and nerve development.)

The American Heart Association recommends healthy people eat omega-3 fatty acids from fish and plant sources to protect their hearts. Have you heard of this miracle?

Your grandmother probably used fish oil in the form of cod-liver oil, which is rich in vitamins A and D. It was used to prevent rickets (a disease resulting in weak bones that is caused by a deficiency of those vitamins). Even though cod-liver oil is one of the most disgusting foods known to man, taking it daily was a given in many households. It turns out the reason that cod-liver oil was so beneficial was not because of those vitamins, but because of its high levels of the long-chain, omega-3 fatty acids called EPA and DHA.

EPA is a key factor for controlling insulin levels, and DHA is essential to maintain and rebuild your brain. So, Grandmother was doing an excellent job in promoting health in your parents.

Equally important, many neurological conditions such as depression, multiple sclerosis, and attention deficit disorders are linked to low levels of DHA in the diet; supplementation with fish oils rich in DHA often show dramatic improvement within a few weeks.

Dr. Barry Sears is a research scientist and creator of the world famous Zone Diet. His most recent book, The OmegaRx Zone - The Miracle of the New High-Dose Fish Oil, is the culmination of 20 years of research on the benefits of long-chain omega-3 fatty acids contained in fish oil. In fact, Dr. Sears pioneered the development of pharmaceutical-grade fish oil, a highly refined nutritional supplement rich in DHA and EPA. This work continues his life long dedication to using diet to help people maintain their state of wellness.
